BRIBIE ISLAND ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
ASSOCIATION (BIEPA).
Help us protect the natural wonders of Bribie Island. We run projects to protect, restore, and maintain habitat for native species on Bribie Island. We monitor wildlife and work with local authorities to ensure native species, such as loggerhead turtles and migratory shorebirds. We keep locals informed about the unique ecosystems on the island.
eBIRD AUSTRALIA eBird is an online database of bird observations providing scientists,
researchers and amateur naturalists with real-time data about bird distribution and abundance.
Swift Research. Swifts, in particular White-throated Needletails, are threatened by the logging of old growth forests in Japan where they breed. Late in spring they migrate to Australia, to spend the summer hawking for insects high above our cities, plains and forests. Please report any sighting of Needletails to Michael Tarburton, who is coordinating counts of needletails to see how the world population is faring.
